YOUR FINAL 5 TIMES TO SEE "DAVID LYNCH THE ART LIFE!" June 16th,17th, 23rd, 24th, and 30th!
Join us at the Underground Cinema by WVIFF for June's feature film: David Lynch: The Art Life!
About the film:
The film follows director David Lynch's upbringing in Montana and Idaho, his initial move to Philadelphia to pursue a career as a painter, to the beginning of the production of Eraserhead.
David Lynch takes us on an intimate journey through the formative years of his life. From his idyllic upbringing in small town America to the dark streets of Philadelphia, we follow Lynch as he traces the events that have helped to shape one of cinema's most enigmatic directors. David Lynch the Art Life infuses Lynch's own art, music and early films, shining a light into the dark corners of his unique world, giving audiences a better understanding of the man and the artist. As Lynch states "I think every time you do something, like a painting or whatever, you go with ideas and sometimes the past can conjure those ideas and color them, even if they're new ideas, the past colors them."
Please join Planned Parenthood South Atlantic for a special community screening of TRAPPED on June 27, 2017 at the Capitol Center Theater, FREE! ...
Trapped Screening: Charleston, WV
June 27, 2017, 6:00pm - June 27, 2017, 10:00pm
The Texas Observer was quoted as saying that TRAPPED provides "A profound look at the emotional lives of abortion providers" and the film was described by Flavorwire as "riveting, powerful and timely as hell" !
Winner of the Sundance Film Festival Documentary Award, TRAPPED puts a personal face on the very restrictive TRAP(Targeted Regulations of Abortion Providers) laws that are part of the biggest Supreme Court case on abortion in a decade (Whole Woman's Health v. Hellersted). In the film, you will see providers doing everything in their power to continue to provide compassionate care, even in the face of these onerous restrictions.
Please join us at 6:00 p.m. for a reception prior to the screening. The film will begin at 7:00 p.m. Afterward, we will have a discussion and a question-and-answer session regarding the film.
This is a complimentary screening. We hope you will consider sponsoring this benefit screening for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic’s medical services and public affairs programming in West Virginia. We count on your ongoing support to keep the momentum going in West Virginia.
We hope you'll join us.
Glad to see our friends from Kin Ship Goods and Base Camp Printing Company featured nationally. This community supports each other, and that's why we worked with them for our first batch of t-shirts and posters. :-)
