“Gypsy Night at MAPLE HILL”

7 PM – 1 AM Saturday, August 20, 2011

Greg Carroll is presenting this benefit event for the WVIFF at his home a few miles NW of Hurricane - the location of his annual summer “Red Party”. No admission fee, but many opportunities to donate to the West Virginia International Film Festival’s 2011-12 Season.


Music by TOFUJTISU and QIET… At 9 PM a screening from the WVIFF archives (hopefully outdoors) of “Lotcho Drom” (a 1993 Cannes award winner, & honored at the 1997 Montreal International Film Festival as the middle film of director Tony Gatlif’s Gypsy Trilogy) – Great on the Gypsy people and their music. Feel free to bring a dish or beverage, plus items for a benefit auction. Barbecue, beer, wine etc will be available. Starts at 7 PM … goes till 1AM ! Movie at 9 PM Bring a blanket. Cash donations will be accepted. DRESS GYPSY!! Camp out if you want to.
