An Aspiring photographer develops an intimate relationship with an older woman in 1950s New York.

Todd Haynes was always interested in art, and made amateur movies and painted while he was still a child. He attended Brown university and majored in art and semiotics. He is an Academy Award nominated director for his 2003 film Far From Heaven, for which he also wrote the screenplay.
