“We were drawn to the wild beauty of West Virginia for this timeless romance turned thriller — AMONG MOUNTAIN CRAGS — a new adaptation of a folk murder ballad that follows the emotional journey of Coralie Whitt and Willie Lowe as they travel from a stifling small town, into the Appalachian wilderness. For two weeks, we had the daily privilege of setting out from our home base in Fayetteville with a skeleton crew to shoot on trails in the New River Gorge, in old coal mines, houses, and farmsteads in Hinton and Beckley. The memory of the people that once inhabited these places permeates every frame of the film, and we wrapped production feeling privileged to have experienced the palpable history of West Virginia as we worked to bring this story to life. We are thrilled to share this film that showcases, not only the awesome landscape of West Virginia, but also the rich and layered cultural legacy of this oft-overlooked part of Appalachia.” – Kyle Frederick
